You complain you haven’t seen your boyfriend in a few days, I haven’t seen my boyfriend in over a month. You complain you haven’t spoken to him in an hour, I don’t get to speak to my boyfriend for days at a time because his phone only works on wifi and there’s a 6 hour time difference. Your boyfriends only 15 minutes away from you at all times, mines 5000 miles and a 15 hour flight away. You fight with your boyfriend because he forgot to call you, or doesn’t wanna see you tonight while I cherish every second I get to text him or see him over Skype.
I don’t understand why couples fight over the smaller things and take advantage of seeing each other everyday or even a couple times a week, I’d do anything to see my boyfriend, to get to hug him and just lay in bed with him and talk about everything and anything once a week. I have to go months without seeing him and it’s probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I know it’s just as hard for him. He’s the most perfect guy, and everything I could ever ask for and waiting for him and sacrificing seeing him all the time is nothing compared to the sacrifices he’s had to made to serve in the Army.
He’s not just my boyfriend, he’s my hero and I love him more than anything. But sometimes people forget that it’s not just the soldiers that serve, their significant others do too.
